Here are 10 good reasons to ski Queenstown now:
1. It’s in New Zealand, so your season starts in summer.
2. In New Zealand, the water is pure, the coffee is outstanding,
the wine is renowned, and everybody speaks English, mate.
3. You choose between five nearby mountains: Coronet Peak,
Remarkables, Treble Cone, Cardrona and Snow Park.
4. Don’t like lifts? This is where they invented heli-skiing.
5. Also where they invented bungy jumping. And jetboating.
6. Queenstown is where the perfectly named Remarkables —
drop into the depths of Lake Wakitipu. The beauty will stun
you.
7. Ski Teams train at Coronet Peak —Yanks, Swedes, Finns,
Kiwis — they must know something.
8. Need a ski break? Play golf and tennis at Millbrook Resort.
9. There are beaucoup wineries near Queenstown, many with
fabulous restaurants and Cellar Doors. A Cellar Door is what
we call a tasting room. Try the Pinot. Take home the Sav.
10. In Greater Queenstown, pop. 18,000, there are 150 restaurants:
Thai, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, French, Fusion, Mexican,
Turkish, Vietnamese, Kiwi. And there's no tipping for any
of them
